Custom Painting plug-in

I would love to see a (fairly basic) custom painting plugin....

- Start by applying the material you want on a specific part then right click that part to find "open custom paint tools" (or words to that effect) in the menu
- Separate window opens (similar to HDRI editor)
- Inside window the part is displayed on its own and can be tumbled in 3D space to begin painting
- Use the brush tools and colour selection to begin painting
- Switch between color/spec/bump/opacity layers (perhaps the ability to link layers would help eg with rust spots etc)


This would be real useful in my opinion. At the more complex end of the scale think PS brushes and mudbox style stamps. At the more basic end of the scale take a look at the painting features in 123Dsculpt on the ipad.

Anyway, just thought I would share a reoccuring vision i have now and again.
