Looking at using a 3rd party Render Farm to help get  work out quickly and as a backup for our our system
Have been playing with a trial of Keyshot and like it but cant find a farm that can use these files.
Do i have to look for a different rendering software or is there a farm i just havnt found?

All help very much appreciated.

We have a render farm dedicated to KeyShot.

The specs on the farms are as follows.  The first farm consists of (10) DL160 g6 servers with dual quad core processors (160 total render cores).  Of those (5) servers are 2.93ghz and (5) servers are 3.04ghz.  The second farm that we are putting into production in the next week or so is a Dell M1000e with (14) R610 blade servers.  These are all dual quad core processors running at 2.93ghz (256 total render cores).  All of the machines are running Windows 7 Pro, 256gb SSD's, 16gb ram and running only the KeyShot network render program.  We are already planning the addition of another farm.

We typically setup a dropbox folder that our clients can upload their packaged KeyShot files as well as screen shots of the desired render settings.  We then open the project on one of our workstations (recently upgraded to KeyShot 5), confirm the render settings then send it to the farm to render.  After the project is rendered we place the zipped files back into their dropbox folder along with screen shots of the render log.  This folder is only accessible by 3D Off the Page and the client.  We do have a confidentiality agreement that both parties sign to insure that we are not using your files.  At this time we don't have an automated way for the client to upload directly to the farm.

Each job gets full control of the farm so that there is never more than one job running at a time.  It is first come first serve.  We charge $50 per hour of farm time.  It is a minimum one hour charge then $12.50 per 15 minutes after the first hour.  The new farm will be $80 per hour and $20 per 15 minutes.  If it is a service that you see using often we can offer larger blocks of time for a discount.  We invoice through Paypal for rendering services.

The best way to gauge how much faster the render farm is than your workstation would be to run a test file that we have created (much like the KeyShot fps test).  It is located on our website on the advantage page.  www.3dotp.com  We are currently working on updating the website.

Just an update.  We have 14 of the 16 blades up, running and ready to render.  The last two blades will be in production by Thursday this week.

That's 224 cores plus our other farm with 160 cores.
