Happy rendering! :)

First attempt.

Making case with simple geometry using Solidworks = 10min
Material assign using KS5 = 20min
Browse internet for backplate = 10 min
Adjusting angle shot, ground plane, and image pin for HDRI using KS5 = 15 min
No post-processing.

Total time = 1hour.

Hope you like it.

I already had a star field HDRI - this saved time.
Brought in a KS sphere object and applied a Death Star image taken from Google images.
Used paint for the fighters.  Wish I had time to experiment with a dirty weathered look.
Did all my post in Paint Shop Pro ( I have PS, but PSP is a great program for quicky post)
Added some random noise to reduce that overly-clean CAD look.
Added minor motion blur and DOF in PSP.
Added a couple of flares using Topaz Labs filters.
Color adjustment using PSP curves.
Used a KS Screenshot rather than a render (I needed the time)
1 hr 50 minutes.  I figure another hour of experimentation would take it to the next level.

ok, i'm done.

Steps:
-google for gaspump image and a free delorean model (found a skp model that saved me, and very fast as well):10 minutes
-dragging everything into KS and assigning materials:15 minutes
-Lighting in KS: 40 minutes (i did 2 renders, 3 mins each, one with a light to recreate the headlights effect on the xwing and the second one for the main light, and blend them in post)
-Fusion post and blending:20 minutes
-PS editing for girl and Doc: 20minutes

Total time: 1h45minutes

Hope you like it, i'm out of scale in the image, but no time to look for a better background!!

Hi now I am right in time (1 hour and 50 minutes).
- searching hangar backplate image and R2D2 model from Grabcad.
- putting everything with the right perspective and environment into KS.
- experimenting a bit with emissive light on the turbines
- selecting materials and render.

Only had 15min left to render this.

Not such a star-wars fan, but I am a planes-fan .. so since the rules don't state anything about dropping parts out and adding new ones in .. I took some freedom to turn it into something more plane-like.
Only keyshot .. (and photoshop for a few labels).

Haha, nice. Didn't notice until now. What an expression :D

10 min to find an image online
1 hr 2 min in KS5
50 min in PS

First time I've tried doing a depth pass and editing DOF in Post. It's easy to see it didn't work well if looking closely at the background. Both these images work out best if not viewed full-size, haha.

The first attachment is my official entry, the others are just stuff I thought I'd share.
