If I set 1 and 2 you'll see that the whole thing is white

What is your lighting mode? are you lighting the scene with only an hdri?
yes only an hdri
how about your Global Illumination settings?
can you send a screengrab on your lighting settings?

May I also ask, which lighting preset you are using? You can find that by going to the
Lighting tab in the
Project window. Would you be able to send me a screenshot of that
Lighting tab?

I recommend you make sure you're in product lighting preset. You can do this by going to the lighting tab on the right-hand side of your screen. This will enable both Global Illumination and increase Ray Bounces which will help with this scenario.
