Title: 3DS Max AutoStart?
Post by: SEdwards on February 18, 2015, 06:50:43 AM
I'm evaluating Keyshot for use with Pro/E and 3DS Max.
Importing assembly files is great!  Also the exporter for 3DS Max 2015 work flawlessly in terms of import data.

The only issue is that exporting from Max (to Keyshot BIP) instantly launches Keyshot, even if I already have Keyshot open.  Often I'll have both open and just need to import whatever I'm working on in Max into a scene that's already open in Keyshot.  Of course, I can just close the new instance of Keyshot but it can really slow things down if I'm dealing with complicated models.

So, in short: Can I disable the auto-launch of Keyshot on 3ds Max to Keyshot export?  Just need it to write the BIP file, I'll import it myself.

Thanks!

Right now you can't. But you can always save the BIP file after it was imported into KeyShot, and then take it from there.
