Title: Solid state drives & performance
Post by: waters on November 11, 2010, 12:44:06 PM
I am considering a new machine from Xi :    Intel® Core i7 950 3.06GHz 8MB Shared L3 Cache  ,  nVidia® EVGA® GeForce® GTX 465 (Fermi) 1GB, etc.... Anyone using Solid state drives for OS and applications? Although pricey, if it would speed up things it might be worth it. Another hard drive for everything else. How would Key Shot benefit from a SSD?

Hi waters,
I bought one a few months ago or so. It makes a fast machine even faster. Reading and writing from the drive is crazy. Even after using a RAID 0 config, I noticed a big difference with a SSD. They are pricey, but if this is your main rig, then it will be worth it. Other than loading up and saving files with KS, you probably won't see any other boost in KS though.
