Title: Too much judder at 24 fps. Please help
Post by: djnelsen on August 18, 2015, 06:03:13 AM
Good morning,

So I rendered an animation last night:

20 seconds
24 fps
1920 x 1080
max time 7 hrs 30 min
24 mb avi
Viewing with VLC Media Player, my monitor is 60 hz

I was surprised at how much judder I'm seeing, I'd definitely like it to be smoother.

The camera movements seem fairly slow. Nothing crazy.

Is this weird? I would have thought 24 fps at max time 7 hrs 30 min would be just fine. Do you think 30 fps will improve this significantly? Or do I need to jump up to 60 fps?

Something else I should adjust?

I would share the animation, but it's confidential.

Thank so much for your help!

Hi djnelsen.

Are you able to elaborate what you mean by judder? Maybe show it with an example that is not confidential?
Not sure what you mean exactly. Sorry :)

Best regards

Iv had smooth results from 30 fps (1440x900), then I put it into Final Cut pro, also at 30 fps and all was good. Im not sure what the Hz of my display is.
