Title: How to apply different materials/textures to a solidworks part
Post by: JasonM1972 on January 04, 2017, 09:00:40 AM
Greetings (First post from me)

I am working on a Solidworks assembly imported into Keyshot 6.3 Pro, I am trying to edit one of the parts to show different surface textures. However, any changes that I apply, change the whole part when I only want to apply the change to a selected face.

What do I need to do to able to make surface changes to the faces of the part ?

Kind Regards

Jason

Jason,
Open the part in SolidWorks and apply an appearance to the face you want to have a different texture in KS. If you don't have SW then edit the part in the Geometry editor to split the face out then apply the texture.

Sweet :), I had to use the edit geometry as I do not have a copy of the Solidworks file on my system, but I managed to edit the part without any issues

Thank you Harold
