Title: Live-linking not working properly after changing filenames
Post by: pat3k on May 24, 2017, 08:12:07 PM
Hi, I'm using Rhino 5.0 &  Keyshot 5.3. After using live-linking to do the work I saved both files , for example 'part1.3dm' for rhino and 'part2.bip' for keyshot.

I wanted both to have the same filename so  I changed rhino file to 'part2.3dm'. Now when I did an update on Rhino, a new model is created in Keyshot along with the old, except the position of the new model has changed (usually rotated and re-positioned). The materials retained however.

Is there a way to change file names and still maintain a proper link between the 2 files, without creating another a model in different position?

Anyone else experiencing the same problem or has solution?

The file names have to be the same. Otherwise it won't work.

Actually I found a way to do it. The filenames don't have to be the same but the model name in Keyshot have to the same as the Rhino file name.
That solved the problem, thanks anyway.
