Title: How to achieve a similar result?
Post by: jblaze on June 14, 2017, 07:30:15 AM
Hi guys,
I saw this image online and I want to replicate it with a couple of pipes. What scene would you suggest to use? Is it worth adding a bottom "plate" below the tubes in order to gain more control or simply go with the default ground reflections? Recommended pipe material?

Thank you in advance :).

Metals all the waaaay ! Two materials would be enough for this scene. You can try anodized for the coloured part. The other would be just a simple metal with some texture work. Yes, add a ground plane. You'll achieve some cool effects just by testing different materials on it. Studio lighting gave me the best results with metallic materials, but maybe you can try some hdris. You'll have to play with all settings until you reach something you like. Be sure to post your attempts so we can help you out.
