Title: Material Scaling
Post by: Adam_04 on September 12, 2017, 04:54:38 AM
Hi,

I have just upgraded Keyshot 6 to Keyshot 7 and I am trying to map a Brushed (Radial) texture but I cant seem to find the scale option like I had in Keyshot 6 when scaling a texture. Now I just have options for Translate and Rotate and where the 3 cubes used to be to scale is the axis fixed translate tools. If anyone could help get this option back or a way around it that would be great!

Thanks

The scale manipulators have indeed been removed in KeyShot 7, since in KeyShot 6, they were scaling the texture in a rather arbitrary way.
All texture scaling/sizing now has to be done in the texture properties.

I hope that helps.

Hi Dries

Thanks for responding,I was just checking as it still has it listed in the manual:

Do you know if there's anyway to stretch the texture along a single axis? All I have is a general scale tool where it just expands or shrinks it in every direction

Thanks

Hi Adam.
You should be able to stretch the texture by going into the texture options, go to 'size and mapping' and then unchecking the hinge.
When it is unchecked you can adjust the width and height individually using their respective sliders.

Hope it helps.
Best,

Hi,

Thanks for the advice Esben, Sorry for the delayed reply.

Unfortunately, some of my materials are in the Radial format and are apart of a composite and because of this I just have a single scaling slider with no X or Y bias sliders and some of the items that I need to apply this to are oval so I can't just change it to a standard brushed texture. If anyone knows of a way around that'd be great.

Thanks
