Title: Multipl numer fade to handle intensity of LED
Post by: umueglitz on November 20, 2017, 12:59:08 AM
Hallo,
I'm actually simulating a measurement device with various LEDs (15 different pieces). These LEDs show the actual position of a robot calibration measurement and has to be switched on and off accordingly. I  used emitting material and tried to control the status of the LEDs by using intensity value in a number fade. Unfortunally I could only use one number fade for intensity by one material. I can't understand, why there is no possibility to use a second number fade. I think I shouln't be the only one with this problem. I checked different forums but couldn't find a usable solution. In the youtube videos I could also find only examples with one number fade per attribute.
Can me help somebody because I need this animation for a client and are up to now very happy with KeyShot.

Best regards
Uli

You can leave the intensity fixed and do a color fade as the input for the color of the material.
Adjust the gradient color (black will be turned off) and add as many color stops as you need in your animation.

Hope it helps.

Understood. Seems to me like a workaround. Thank you for your answer.

Nevertheless I think it would make sense to have more number fades in the animation

Yeah, I totally agree with you. Using the color fade is definitely a workaround, but it is (as far as I know) the only way to do it inside KeyShot at the moment.
