Title: Advice required - Opacity on label
Post by: rainbringer147 on March 01, 2018, 03:01:38 AM
Hi  :),

I just signed up on the forum after years of being a keyshot user and I've been really appreciating all the information I've been finding !

To my question, I was wondering what was the easiest way to map an opacity to a label ? I have a rectangular label and I want it fading in to transparency on two sides, I know I could create the transparency on the vector file but I wouldn't be able to play with the parameters in real time...

I'm attaching what I'm trying to do, the gradient is a label and the opacity I want going down to the sides, blending the label in the black body.

thank you for the help :)

Gradient map in the Opacity channel of the label material. You can use the gradient to map the opacity falloff the way you want to, just tweak and move . Here is what i knocked up real quick, and the KSP is at the bottom.
