Title: Animation: Translation + Rotation Bug?
Post by: dshugoplt on March 06, 2018, 08:31:26 AM
Hello,

I am having trouble creating an animation with a translation movement followed by a 180º rotation.
I made a simple assembly to explain the problem.
After the translation of the small cylinder, I created a 180º rotation with a pivot point on the center of the big cylinder which is static.
The part should rotate around the big cylinder, but it looks like the pivot has moved.

Any suggestion would be helpful

Thanks!

Not the optimal solution, but if you move the part (using the move tool) to the left and then animate it back into position as a 'pre-animation-setup', then it rotates as expected after the translation if I understood you correct.

Take a look at the bip.

Cheers,

Not sure if this will work for me.
Because my animation is too complex and I have this type of movement in the middle of the video.

But I will give it a try.

Thanks
