Title: plugin solidworks 2018 to Keyshot 7
Post by: markus.halbritter on July 04, 2018, 01:47:22 AM
Hi there,

since Solidworks is using a coordinate system with Z up and and Keyshot a coordinate system with Y up, the models I send to keyshot with the plugin are rotated 90 degrees. I know that there is the possibility at the import dialog to set the up vector direction but this makes the plugin quite senseless. Do you plan to fix this issue ?

Best regards Markus

I'm not sure about the SWX plugin settings. But if it is similar to the Creo plugin, you'll able to set the vertical direction to Z. The plugin provides configurations as well Motion studies that aren't supported by direct import. As well you can use the live linking update feature.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Marco

Marco, are you saying the Creo plugin lets you change your 'up' axis from the plugin settings? That would be a nice feature to have implemented in the next version of the SW plugin!

I haven't had this Plugin sw2018 to ky7. But I used ky6 for SW. My feeling as same as yours. So far, no effective solution has been found. I'm sorry I couldn't help you.
