Title: Mountains & Landscapes
Post by: LM6 on September 20, 2018, 08:38:26 AM
Ive already posted these but thought I would throw them into the mix.
Both created using the new displacement and spotlight features.

Both displacement maps were created in C4D and baked out, both are 32 bit 8k .exr files.

'Ascent' - This is a single render mixed with passes and graded in Photoshop. Samples = 512

'Landscape' (Alien) - This image was a bit more complicated, It was achieved by mixing two renders of the same scene together. Render 1 was rendered at  512 samples with render passes. Render 2 was the same scene but set to 6 samples for a dark grainy look that was used to give parts of the terrain more contrast.

I will post some other images from these scenes later.

Cheers

Peter

These are just gorgeous! I love the colors you're pulling into them.

Perfect demo of displacement

Here are the two renders that I mixed together with the Shadow, AO and Depth pass in Photoshop to make the final image called 'Landscape'
