Title: Exploded View Animation
Post by: Namssorg on October 24, 2018, 02:15:28 PM
Here's a neat little animation I made for a design project I worked on.  This is an exploded view animation of the product that was created for the company's website. (https://gridplus.io/technology)

That's cool. I have a special love for exploded view animations. Looks visually clean and simple, which is not always easy to do :) Nice job!

I like it! Super clean, and right pacing.
Right around the 4sec mark you pull out that vertical strip and highlight it with blue. Can I ask how you created that look? Thx!

Sure!  That part is an LED light-pipe, and on the web version of the animation, I wanted to show it glowing when that part of the system is being showcased.  I rendered a single frame using an emissive material on that part to achieve the glow.  Then faded that frame over the clear (off) part in After Effects.

I suppose I could have duplicated the part, and achieved a similar fade on/off using only Keyshot as well.

It's got that 'cover-flow' feel to it. Very nice!
