Title: Performance boost with SSD and RAM upgrade?
Post by: mikalind on February 18, 2020, 03:06:48 AM
Hi, i have a Dell Server T430 with 16BG RAM, 500GB Disk (non ssd) Dual CPU Xeon E5-2620 for a total of 32 Threads and 32 Core Keyshot Network Rendering. Will render times be affected if I upgrade to SSD and double the RAM?

Hi Mikael

The rendering speed itself will be unaffected by doubling the RAM and upgrading to an SSD.
Depending on the amount and size of the renderings, you may see faster transfer times of KeyShot scenes and final renderings by using an SSD instead of an HDD. More RAM will allow you to render larger scenes and images more comfortably.

You would get a far greater speedup by upgrading the CPUs. :)
