Title: AMD GPU support in Keyshot 10?
Post by: kentobento on November 16, 2020, 05:02:36 PM
Pretty sure this will go unnoticed but now that both AMD and NVIDIA have their next gen of consumer GPUs out it would be good to know if there will be support for both platforms in Keyshot 10.

If anyone knows anything I'd love to know before dropping a lot on a new GPU.

AMD GPUs are not supported for rendering. I hope Keyshot will get this feature asap.

I doubt it's coming soon.

It's been years since Apple launched the Metal API and Keyshot still doesn't support GPU rendering on the Mac. And it looks like Apple Silicon and AMD GPUs support is going through the same path.

If you want to take full advantage of KeyShot you need a PC with an Nvidia RTX card.

At least the denoise do work for AMD gpu on real time which shortens rendering and save the screenshot.  :P

AMD GPUs ability to handle ray tracing only came to market three months ago. I wouldn't expect support in KS10. It's unlikely that GPU support for the Mac will be introduced as part of a .2 or .3 update. Maybe in the next full version.
