Title: Iges and OBJ import problems
Post by: Sleek on June 10, 2010, 01:51:20 AM
Hello,

I'm importing iges files from Alias Studio ("Surface" to be more precise). Some parts end with poor tesselation.
I've to delete them and re-import (merging) those specific parts in .obj specifying a finer tesselation.
But then the surfaces have different UV mapping coordinates or something like that : the different surfaces of a part have different directions. This appear when using directional shaders (brushed metals). Ugly checker results.

So :
How can I increase the tesselation in a .iges from Alias workflow ?
How can I have good results with brushed metals in .obj parts ?

Are you using 1.9 or 2?

Nope. Same same with 1.9.54
(Bad tesselation of .iges from Alias Surface and UV mapping orientation problems in .obj)
Any others have faced the same problems ?
