Title: How to Un-Explode an Assembly
Post by: Robb63 on December 14, 2012, 09:11:22 AM
I have an assembly of multiple parts in KS that are lined up perfectly, and centered in the camera just right for how I want them to appear after they animate. At the start of the animation I want them to be off camera then animate into place. I know ow to animate them exploding from this nice assemble, but I don't know how to get them to implode as the opening animation.

Do they have to be moved in the scene tree off camera, then brought into their correct location using a translation? Or is there a better way?

You could set up an animation that moves them all out into "space", and then mirror the animation to bring it all back together. But then you only render out the second part of the animation by setting your work area (little blue arrows) to the beginning and the end of the "implosion". Will this work?
