Title: Creating Edge Glow Orange Acrylic
Post by: cash68 on July 08, 2010, 08:30:18 AM
Anybody know how this can be done?  Even if hte edges don't glow, I'm having a lot of trouble with it behaving.  It seems like I can change the color of a solid glass material, but it flops between primary colors... blue, green, yellow, orange red.  Nothing in between that looks like polished edge glow acrylic.

Is the edge(s) "mapped" as a separate color in your modelling app?  If not, do so, and you will then have control over the edge.  Even better, map each edge in a different color.  Then you can map one or more edged in KS, and you may also tweak each individual edge to look best under your choice of HDR.

On glass parts I usually map every surface differently just to have that control.

You'll probably want to use an emmissive for the edges.
