Title: importing a drawing vs a model
Post by: lovethepirk on October 19, 2014, 11:47:33 AM
I am a novice.  I see that in the below video that keyshot has revolved a 'drawing' then morphed it into a colorful model.

How are they revolving a drawing?  Is there an export function on cad that is exporting only lines?  If I try to export a wireframe I still get the 3d model in keyshot.

thanks.

It's actually the opposite.

The bike is a 3D model imported into KeyShot.

The KeyShot Toon Shader (material) is applied to make it look like a line drawing.

KeyShot animation rotates the bike model which gets rendered to look like a "line drawing"

I'm working on a simple copy of that bicycle revolve as a learning lesson.

I can get my model to revolve in toon mode with the outlines....but how do you get it to revolve thereafter in color?

I've tried many methods and all lead to the original toon revolve becoming whatever material/color I am trying to do for the 2nd revolve.

I think whoever did this has done 2 separate animations (one toon and one 'materialised') then crossfaded them in premier or Final Cut or something.

I like the toon animation, haven't seen that done before.
