Title: Workstation System Spec
Post by: tolerance on October 22, 2014, 04:39:45 AM
Hi I am looking at purchasing Keyshot Pro + Animation. I also need to purchase a workstation and I want it to suit , but most workstation Have only quad core (4 Cores).
Since the speed of keyshot is linear with the amount of cores and keyshot recommends between 32 and 256 cores will quad core be sufficent(will it be slow)
e.g. Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ with Intel HD Graphics 4600 (2.4 GHz, 6 MB cache, 4 cores)
Advise appreciated.

Starting to think this CPU approach with keyshot is a major disadvantage. Typical software for pure 3D animation purposes Cinema4D, Maya, 3dsmax, Lightwave or Blender are these CPU based or graphics card based.
Can anyone post up what would be a basic system, a middle of the road system, and an ultimate system for keyshot pro + animation, as I want to decide if I spend money on hardware or different software such as named above.
