Select by group and NOT part

I am compiling large KS files into one document, therefore I have beautiful groups available. But it still becomes very messy with hundreds of them. I would like to simply select an item in the scene and have the group selected instead just the single part. Similar to in photoshop where the auto-selection can be set to group or layer. Currently, it selects the single part and then you have to navigate back to the KS tree, minimize the group, click the group...

In Addition: MORE shortcut keys such as move, set to center...

I agree the behavior is a bit odd. I do have some solace when using the Geometry viewer to move things around, you can right click and choose Move Part or Move Model (this is probably what you'd want?)

When I am moving things around, I always use the geometry view these days for that very reason.

I am not sure if you're able to move by Model Set yet, which would also be a nice option?
