I'm animating a complicated hinged set of pliers. I have the movement done so they close on the bone correctly. I then animate everything to rotate/turn everything over to look at the underside. This is where the problem is. The "translation" movements of the innitial "closing" gets screwed up when I rotate everything 180 degrees. All the other innital rotations translate just fine.

Hi Wayne,

It's a bit hard to tell what is going on in the scene.

Would it be possible to share it with us?

Hi Wayne,

Thank you for sending over the scene. I am looking at it now.

Hi Wayne,

I sent you a fixed version of the scene.

The culprit was that the 'Axis Orientation' for the Translation animations was set to 'Global'. Changing this to 'Original Local' (read: respecting the origin of the parts/model) fixes the issue of the components shifting.
When combining translation and rotation animations, it is usually best to use the 'Original Local' Axis Orientation for all animations.

@DriesV
Thanks DriesV! Sorry for the dramma and false alarm. Never ran into this before.
