Is there a way to set GPU mode as default?

We use a Keyshot Network Render farm that has GPUs and CPUs, we routinely forget to set GPU mode, and because we can't use GPU for animations (only CPU mode works) we end up clogging our CPUs all the time, while the GPUs sit stagnant.
It's just kind of annoying to have to remember to set it every time, and because we're sending to a render server on the other side of the country, to even cancel the CPU jobs sent wrong take several minutes.

Is there any way to set GPU mode as default for network rendering?
We can't "inherit from real-time view" because none of our workstations have compatible GPUs.
