Platform / OS – Windows 7
KeyShot version - 5
Plugin version – Creo64 3.3
Modeling system, including version – Creo2 M110

Hello,
Just upgraded to Creo2 from Wildfire5.  When working with wildfire 5 I could export a complete powertrain (cooling package, engine, and transmission) and be around 1gig.  Today I'm attempting to export and render JUST a portion of this same file from CREO and the file size is 4.4 gig!  The workstation i'm running this on is an INtel Xeon CPU E5-2667 with 16gb of ram - never had any issues before but now will not even open the exported file.

I need to get the filesizes down to at least where they were before.  Any tips, tricks, or the like much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

John

What is your tessellation parameter set to? Make sure to keep it small.

I've been all over the place with the tennesellation value - even tried a "0" and "0.0001", filesize still out of site.

I just mapped to the WF5 plugin inside of Creo2 - and it runs!  Same file that came out at 4.2GB using the CREO Plugin came through at 498mb at 0.5 ten with the WF Plugin.

Unsure what to think of this - any thoughts?

With the plugin for Creo, you have the option to include the actual geometry (Option "include NURBS"). If you uncheck this under settings, you will get the tessellation only.

A little testing tonight - exported the same file through both plugins

0.5 tessellation value

WF5 - 717MB
Creo2 - 7.6GB

I ran this test on two machines (laptop and a desktop).

We will run some tests and let you know what we find.
