Hi guys.
I have created this very basic tutorial as I've seen questions about how to do it here on the forum a few times and also been asked by colleagues a couple of times.

It would be really nice if you had a few minutes to read it and give me some feedback.
Is it to simple? Does it explain it well enough? Etc... Whatever comes to your mind:)

Thanks
Best regards

Hi Esben;

I like it. Simple, to the point, and cross-platform.

You might mention defining faces (surfaces) using the "split line" tool. I do this often in SolidWorks, and I assume it's available in other CAD apps.  Great for simulating pad printing, striping or any other surface application.  And not being geometry, like a cut or extrude, is easy to use or not use in KeyShot.

I like it too. Thanks, Esben! - I'll be sharing this link a lot with support.  ;)

Just visited the link.

Love it! Especially the real product's photos in animated GIF and the EXTRA TIPS part.

Btw, nice white minimalist web theme design.

But the title "Visualize different surface structures on a single CAD part" is pretty confusing, especially for newbies, since this tutorial is for newbies.
What about: "Assigning multiple materials on single surface" ?

Just my two cents  :)

It's a good advice, but I think I'll stay away from specific surface splitting tools in this tutorial, to keep it simple. You gave me a good idea for another tutorial though: Showing how to split surfaces in e.g. solidworks, rhino, etc. Thanks :)

Spot on! I know the title isn't elegant at all, but couldn't come up with something better. Thanks for the suggestion.
I think I'll go with "How to assign multiple materials on a single cad part"

I'm really happy about your inputs :)
Have a great day.
