Hi!

Im having some problems with labels...
Stupid problems, but I cant figure them out.

The first one is that they leak through my objects and pop out the other side, this is ridiculous, but I cant figure out how to make them stop doing this.
That problem led to the next one which is even more idiotic:
Since they were leaking through, I figured what the heck, I will just move where I am putting it since its a symmetrical object, and have it come out the other side right where I want it.... WRONG!
On one side its where I position it, and on the other its WAY off. I tried making the camera orthographic and set the  position from the left and its STILL wrong on the right!
What am I missing here?
Its making me feel stupid and I have run out of buttons, I love buttons, but I need more!
Or something....

Thanks if anyone can help with this!

Cheers,
Mealea

Ok, I got the symmetrical part working sort of by changing the mapping to X planar.
1/2 way there, now all I need is for them to not go all the way through...

Hi Mealea!

No such thing as stupid problems- only stupid answers, as my mom used to say!

On the label tab, scroll all the way to the bottom and uncheck "Two Sided".  That should solve your problem...

Hay Speedster, its not working which is weird.
With normal projection single sided does  nothing, but with other projections it does work, the problem there is that the label is very distorted.
Normal projection retains the shape of the label but turning Two Sided off has no effect, the other projections seem to work with Two Sided off, but they mangle the image (in this case the KeyShot logo).

Try to adjust the depth slider inside the label properties. This should control how far the label "leaks" through the object.

MealeaYing

ooooo!
Ok thanks Esben!
I thought that was depth for bumpyness or something...

Thanks!

MealeaYing

That did it!
Thanks you guys, it was driving  me up the wall.

MealeaYing

The results look great, this is a splendid feature!

Thanks again you guys!

Just a quick test render:

No problem - glad to help :)
I thought that as well for a long time. Maybe the name of the feature is a bit misleading. Maybe "projection depth" or something would make it more obvious.

Nice model. Looking forward to see some more renders of it.

HAY!
Thanks!
And sorry, I have no way of tracking responses on this site, so I didn't know you had responded... EEEP!
The "Notify me of replies" feature doesn't work at all aparently.
Anyhow I post stuff over on ZBC, honestly it seems like there is a LOT more KeyShot on ZBC than there is here, which would seem strange if ZBrush users are sort of extremely enthusiastic.
I think the reason so many of them don't post here is because theres no place to put ones own thread. For example I am NOT putting my stuff in "Amazing Shots" because its not amazing, I don't like bragging, and because I would be posting a lot of stuff that wasn't a "shot" at all.
On ZBC we just make a thread and dump our stuff into it as we make it, from there it just grows as we progress and its rather amazing to watch some of the threads like that develop.

Cheers!

Yeah, I follow you. I've also thought that it would be nice with a "Work In Progress" category for stuff that is not finished and people want feedback on, and then the "Amazing Shots" for final renders. Would make things a bit more clear.

What does the KeyShot guys think? :)
