I've been working with Cinema4D for a while for basic broadcast style animations and visual compositing.  Now I'm working with a company that the primary role for my job is 3D rendering, and scene building.  Bottom line I need to create several "3d offices" to place products within the scene.  I tried something simple like downloading a Starbucks mug from TurboSquid, but when imported into Keyshot, I realized that I had to manually place all the textures and it was very time consuming as well I had to adjust some of the textures.

I'd like to get a better grasp of basic file types, what is the "standard", etc.  As I mentioned, I just need to create beautiful office scenes and place items in them.  Eventually I will need to animate them but I'll tackle that when I get closer.

Thanks!
