Hi.

I understand that Keyshot is CPU dependant, but I cant render large images as I get the message "an application has requested more gpu memory than is available in the system"

My graphics card is a GTX 260 with 896mb of ram, what Graphics cards are you using to render poster size images,  Im talking about 6k or higher resolutions?

Thanks Dan

I'm using a Quadro 2000 (1GB) and have never had any issues. 6K res for a poster is really huge though! Once the audience stands back from an image like you have to with a poster there is no point in rendering at 300dpi. Try some test renders at low er res if you can, hang them up and stand back and see where the res drops off.

I've rendered full size roadside billboards and they were only at 9k res because of the distance people view them from.

Keyshot doesn't use the GPU for rendering, it uses the CPU so I wonder why this warning is coming up?

Best of luck

The GPU is used for displaying the image in the output window and applying the image adjustments. You can lower the value set in Preferences/Advanced/Output window memory limit. It will disable most effects but you should be able to see the rendering.
