Hello fellow rendering enthusiasts,

I've been able to find time to do a small project I've been wanting to do for a while now: A steampunk spider. This chap was modeled in NX and rendered in KS6 Beta.

Comments are welcome and appreciated!

Very nice Magnus, particularly love the light bulb corrosion/oxidisation and the tight DOF

Thanks man! I'm glad you liked it.

That is awesome ...

Lightbulb looks more like solid glass rather than thin glass bulb .. ?

PhilippeV8

try Edison Bulb .. looks even more steampunk, no ?

Magnus Skogsfjord

Thank you, Philippe.

That's a cool image. Might have been a better choice for the steampunk look, yes. I actually had a hard time deciding to go for the refractive look(well spotted btw), or the one that you posted here.

I landed on trying to achieve this kinda look:

Probably the finest render you have done to date Magnus (well in my opinion anyway). Loving the attention to detail :)

The renders are great.... but I love this concept! Very Guillermo del Toro!

Agree with MM's comments. KS6 is gonna serve us well for worn/oxidised/patinated materials.

Thanks Edwardo. I'm glad you liked it :) And yeah, metals are a thrill to work with now.
