Check for updates - updates don't install

Right now I notice this on KS 6 Beta, but it's never worked for me on KS5 either.
If you choose the 'check for updates' under the help menu or when it prompts you with an update on startup - the update never installs. It always says this version isn't compatible with the version of windows you're running (image attached).

1. looking at the filename, it is indeed the correct version
2. If it's not actually the correct version, shouldn't it have checked before downloading it?
3. the only work around is to download the trial from the website or maybe from FTP site if you have the address

Has this worked for anyone?
Anyone else notice this?
