I am unable to save any new materials in Keyshot 6.  I can create new folders but it is not saving the materials I save into them.  Keyhot shows the material in the library until I refresh the folder, or close Keyshot and reopen.  Then the material is gone.  Nothing is writing into the folder at anytime either.

It sounds like a permission problem with UAC. Try to change your material library path to your own documents folders, or add a separate path in your options. Check the keyshot XML where all paths should be listed.

Hope that helps

I've checked and I have full permissions to the materials folder and the Keyshot resources folder.  Both of which are in My Documents.  I am able to save bips, packages and edited environments in their respective folders as well in the resources folder.  Not sure what to look for in the XML file, but it appears to match the paths in the Keyshot5 XML file and I had no problems saving materials in Keyshot5.

I am having this bug as well,  We use a network accessible folder structure to save project materials and it can no longer be written to.

Textures and environments can be saved fine, but materials will not save.

Folder permissions are all OK and every member of my team has full access.

UPDATE: On further investigation it seems materials can be saved via exporting them from the material graph editor to the correct folder and then refreshing the library.  I am sure this is not the intended method, but it is a work around for now.

Same problem here, running the Floating version (material files are stored locally).  The export option mentioned above works, except all the material icons are goose poop brown when Keyshot is restarted.

- Win 7
- 6.0.266
- Import Step file
- Solidworks 2015

I also node locked version on my other work/job computer and everything seems to work fine.

I am using the floating version too!

reproducable error process:

Step 1:  Add Geometry Cube
Step 2: Apply any material
Step 3: Edit material
Step 4: Save material to library (material preview appears)
Step 5: Refresh Library
Step 6: Material disappears

Note: Material never appears in windows explorer at any point!

When trying to move the material preview to a new folder, the following error dialogue is displayed.

Same issue here.

KS 6 pro floating.

Materials don't save. It saves the new folder I can create and new material saves inside this folder but after refresh of the library or restart of KS
the material saved inside this new folder is gone.

Exact same issue here.

Platform / OS:                                                Windows 7 Enterprise (64 bit)
KeyShot version:                                           Keyshot 6 Pro (Floating Licence)
Plugin version:                                               6.0.266
Modeling system, including version:    Imported .jt files
Steps to take to reproduce the problem:

   Step 1:  Add Geometry Cube
   Step 2: Apply any material
   Step 3: Edit material
Step 4: Save material to library (material preview appears)
   Step 5: Refresh Library
   Step 6: Material disappears

Include original CAD, bip, or KSP file:    Unavailable due to confidentiality

I am also having an additional issue with not being able to change the material on a few parts in my model as well as certain created materials just not showing up on or after renderings.

In attempt to fix this issue we have tried reinstalling without resolve.

Hopefully a fix can be found soon.

Thanks,

MercMan

Yup, same exact issue here as well.
KS6 Pro Floating 6.0.226
Win 7 Enterprise
Dell T7810
Imported CGR's

Parts that have the material applied retain the material upon re-opening the model, but the material itself disappears. I have to edit a part that has the material and resave it.... which doesn't actually save to any folder. The XML file for my favorites shows the materials and in the correct folder. But the materials don't exist in that folder.

The same behavior here. Any ideas how to fix it?

PS. Using KeyShot 5 to maintenance the library can not be the first choice workaround... :(

Same issue. Same floating license. Still no fix?

What version are you using exactly (e.g. 6.0.123)?
