A small teaser... :P

KeyShot 6.1 will have some nice enhancements to the Toon material.
You will have more control over Outline and Part Contours.

Enjoy! :)

This looks like what I've been waiting for !
Being a technical illustrator, black and white line work
with thick and thin technique is perfect.

When is 6.1 coming out?

Exactly. The thick outline really makes it!

Technical illustration was exactly the motivation for the improvements. :)

KeyShot 6.1 is just entering beta.
It should be generally available early in 2016.

This would be awesome for technical illustration as well as other images that I use for training materials.

My only suggestion would be for an Illustrator type of render output. I know internally for us (my old job) we would do the exploded views in Catia/3DVIA and then export them as cgm/svg/dwg and bring those into Illustrator to do the flow lines, callouts, and ensure that the line weights were correct and consistent. Not sure if that's in the plan as well, but it'd be mighty handy for tech illustrators who rely on Illustrator fr the bulk of their workflow.

This is so cool!

For whatever it's worth, I have successfully used Toon (KS5) to render Design Patent drawings, and they were accepted by the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office.  But the thick/thin will knock them over!  Have not attempted Toon yet for Utility Patent drawings, where they are pretty well stuck on the "old style" of linework.

I love toon material on KS 4.3......I used and I'm still using them a lot!
Can't wait to see the enhancements of 6.1.
Very nice!!!

Is there a way to apply the Toon materials as an opacity map?

Very nice.  :o

How do we get the effect then, specifically the overall contour.

Also, how is this shaded/lit?  Can we download the model anywhere?
