Hello, I am considering the purchase of Keyshot for rendering of watches.

My key concern is whether I can get realistic looking leather straps, such as those shown in this linked picture (not sure if it is a rendering though...).

Any experienced user care to weigh in on this? Thanks a lot!

Hi.

For a leather strap like that with those deep crevices, I think you'll get the best result from actual modeling/sculpting it.
You might be able to get away with a bump/normal-map, but it is not going to be as convincing.

Thanks for the advice Esben! Having spent quite some time on bump map and displacement map without good results, I am going to model it like you say. :)
