Individual surface materials?

This may have been a question that has already been answered, but I can not find said answer to my problem.
Within KeyShot 6, are you able to add a different material/texture to a single surface without the model being set up this way in the original modeling software? Having this feature would save me so much time during my work day and would completely eliminate having to open and manipulate the extremely large files I am frequently given to work with.

You can use the Geometry Editor to split objects into individual surfaces within KeyShot. Right-click your object in the viewport or scene tree and select "Edit Geometry", then the option to split surfaces.

Awesome! Thanks guys ;D! I didn't know that the geometry editor would allow me to accomplish this. I will definitely play around with this and hopefully it will make a difference in my setup time.
