Been continuing to work on this model - back and forth between keyshot and Creo.  I've come to realize that Creo does an absolute horrible job of controlling surface normal direction - seems almost random.  For anyone having trouble - using the "flip normal" command in Creo for offending surfaces does the trick if the back is front of a surface :).

I don't think we ever had any issues with normals when it comes to models from Creo. This surprises me.

I agree Thomas - been using keyshot for around 2 years now with no troubles until I started playing with this Surface Backside Mask Node.  Perhaps it's how I've created the underlying geometry as I'm working with a shrinkwrap of a complete vehicle.  Will continue to play around with this.
