I can't see my preferences window but when I open it I can't do anything untill I hit alt+F4 ... so my guess is that it's somewhere off the screen ... anyone knows a trick to get it back ?? :/

This sounds strange. It appears that the position of the preference window is not remembered. Did you have a 2nd monitor attached to your computer at some point?

I still do ... have a 2 monitor setup.
