Some Sunday rendering; been experimenting some water droplet/condensation renders. The little puddle of water at the bottom is done with glass and opacity map.  Constructive thoughts/feedback/critiques are welcome!

Looks almost real ... hard to see any difference with the real deal ... great render setup ... love the reflexion in the water and on the table.

Really like the droplets. Were they all modeled? If not, how were they achieved? They look great!

Thanks! Still trying to see what else I can do to improve it

Yea they're modeled, the puddle of water at the bottom is just a plane with glass material.  Although, you can probably get close with some nice bump maps

Great droplets, Benny!

The lighting seems to render the can a bit flat. Not sure what your intentions are, but for a cylindrical product like this, I would try and add a light on one or both sides, to get some vertical reflections going down the sides and a gradient shading across the front, to enhance the cylindrical shape.

Best,

Best,

Thanks Esben!  Interesting feedback! I'm trying to understand what you mean by gradient shading across the front, mind elaborating that a bit?

Maybe something like this?

Dries got it!

Just another example using a diffuse material to show how lighting coming from the sides creates a gradient appearance of the surface (compared to the 'flat' one) and makes it easier to read that the object is in fact cylindric.

Does it help?

Great! I have tried it again and it does give a better idea of the cylindrical shapes (See below).  Thanks guys!

Yea they're modeled

All modeled. That had to be painstaking.

The lighting update on that most recent one really takes it up a notch. Looks great!

One thing is certain: Esben will never steer you wrong.   ;D

Esben Oxholm

Looks great, Benny! Good job.

Ha, thank you for the kind words. Although I hope no one follows my advices blindly. Always use your own judgement for the final call :)

Magnus Skogsfjord

Nah that's some good steering right there. Esben usually don't miss! Looking great!

Kind, but also accurate. :) I think we all use our best judgment in our projects but input and guidance from a master user is not only welcome it is indispensable. It's why I love this forum so much. I got and went through Esben's Product Visualization course and it was awesome. I learned some great stuff and it really helped improve the look of my renders. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to up their game. Especially newer users of KS.

Haha true, I did it because it made sense. But it was a good call and I def see a difference. Your product visualization course was also helpful! Looking forward to more
