Hi all;

When you think about it, our wishlist is getting shorter- The KS team really listens and acts on our requests.  It's a balancing act between giving us the options we need and still maintain the Luxion core value of simplicity and ease of use, unlike the other bloated and arcane renderers on the market.

That said, here's my now much shorter wish list...

1)   "Save Camera View" really saves everything, especially the model position.  Not necessary to save the HDR in my opinion- I run a spreadsheet to log that sort of stuff.

2)   The "Move Object Ball" (or whatever it's called) should be directly linked to the numerical position/rotation dials on the Scene tab.  Now, if you start at "000", then use the ball to move things around, then go back and reset the dials to "000", the model does not return to the start (default?) position.

3)   Related to 2) above:  It would be great if the "coarse" moves in the Scene tab were user defined under Preferences.  Default for rotation, for example, is now 45 degrees per click, and you have to input what you really want.  Instead, under preferences, you could set say 5 degrees per click.  Ditto with positions.  This would save us a lot of time.  Movement and Rotation (with keyboard arrows) can be user defined in SolidWorks, and I presume other apps as well.

4)   MUCH finer control over label and texture position.  Most are almost impossible with the mouse, and time consuming with numerical input.  A thumbwheel would help, or user defined under preferences as I note in 3) above.

5)   Improvements to the Library, especially file management.  Materials are stable now, and update as expected and the individual material library folders are stable.  But Environments and Backplates are not.  I have a number of sub-categories like "Studio", "Landscape", "Interiors" and the like.  All get trashed whenever I do a reload, and sometimes for no apparent reason.  They all remain, but the subs disappear.  In the Materials folder the various subs appear as a .bip with the familiar icon, but I can't seem to access them for editing, etc.  Edits all have to be done from within an open KeyShot.  No biggie, just odd and at times frustrating.

6)  A special request for a "Car Show" or "Mecum Auto Auction" HDR.  I've tried to create a many spectral multi-lamp HDR in HDR LightStudio Pro, but without success yet.  Not LightStudios fault, it's me I'm sure.  But it would be great to light an automobile or other products, on the showroom floor or in a convention center environment with all those great reflections and hotspots.

I know many of you have your special requests as well, so let's all gather them in one thread for the KS team!

Thanks,
Bill G

I'll add my $0.02 to Bill's list:

#2  The "Move Object Ball" can go off-screen.  Would like to see it always centered in the viewport.

#3  The default rotation increments are way too big.  Adjusting in preferences would be good, but I like the way this is handled in other programs:  Hold down Shift key, for example, and the movement divides by 10.  So 45 degrees becomes 4.5 degrees.

Thanks for the initiative. Here are my answers to your requests:

@1 - noted, but probably won't happen 3.0.

@2/3 - we are redoing "Move Object". It will be much better in 3.0.

@4 - we are reworking the sliders and their behavior.

@5 - we redesigning the entire library and it's behavior for 3.0

@6 - tricky. Field trip to Mecum in Indianapolis?
