I have a project that has a dozen or so studios, each with its own model set, and sharing 4 different cameras, and 2 different environments. This ability of the studios has really smoothed out my workflow for product families where the base product is the same, but different options, views, lighting, etc. Been fantastic!

That being said, is there a way to select a studio, and along with its assigned model set, camera and environment and export  that studio (And only that studio)to a new keyshot file? I do this so I can pick which product model I need and import it into a different KS project where I place the product in an environment.

I have been just duplicating the product project, open it and delete everything I don't want. Doing it the opposite way, being able to just export what I need would be quite a bit faster.

Thanks!

I agree that this would be a great enhancement!

You can apply the path of your default (empty) studio scene in the preferences and use it as your template.

Just an idea.

Hope that helps

I do have many templates setup, and it works really well, but the thing is that I want to take a current project and just extract a single studio and its assets with it. Maybe its an export function where you can export or save as a new bip file and select which studios you want to export or save out.

Ahm. Then activate one studio and use the save active ... in main menu. This should work like ' save active scene set' in KeyShot 6.

So I understood it wrong. Thought you need the opposite, an easy way to import.

If you find a way, please share.

OK. I did a short test. It is possible to export active model set(s) just like a scene set in KS6. But it is not possible to export the entire studio definition.

Maybe there will be this feature in future releases?!

I did test this last night as well, and for some reason I missed the save model set option, and that works great for now. I can deal without the cameras and environments, if I can just get the textured models that is 90% of what I need.

Thanks for the help, this is great!
