Hi all - I have to model some conceptual product shots which consist of a brush that you would typically find on a makeup powder brush - made of synthetic material or horsehair. I'm trying to determine the best way to do this - I have an actual brush sample which I've take a photo of and mapped it onto my part - this yields 'ok' results but I'd like to get something more realistic. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good way to do this? The side profile of the brush looks ok but the top gets a little funky.
I've attached a snippet of my render and the type of brush I am trying to replicate. Any suggestions would be great.

Thank you.

I guess You'll need a texture (shot) from the top of the brush. And then use the tri planar mapping (KeyShot 7) to apply the different textures from the side and on top.

(Sorry for the short form - written on a mobile)

Hope that helps.
