Hello and Good Morning

I have been busy working on rather long and time consuming animation all week, for some reason 2 of the 3 scene files have disappeared from the folder.

I had them open yesterday to show the Lead Engineer current progress, for some reason it wouldn't let me save the files (I cant remember what the message said), as there were no actual changes made I just closed down the files. Now they are gone :(

Any of you Guru's seen this kind of behaviour before?

Kind Regards

Jason

Hey Jason,

This is just a guess, but could it be related to this?

I haven't personally had the issue of not being able to save a file and I don't know why it would make them disappear, but perhaps this could be a starting point for you. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue in 8.0 look to be fixed in 8.1 : what was happening in the previous release (in my case) is that you where able to save a keyshot file from v7 release once, after the conversion in v8 and warning message,  the file look to be saved correctly, then if you tried to save again the same file after conversion you saw the message that was described in https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=22554.0 post , but in fact keyshot save it correctly but for some unknown reason is adding a  .tmp extension after the .bip so if you check in the folder where you put you scene initially you will find your file but named xxxx.bip.tmp if you delete the .tmp extension you will be able to re open the file correctly whithout errors in keyshot, but if you try to ignore the error message when you save and retry again to save without renaming it then the file will be deleted.
