Strange lines when adding a liquid inside a glass bottle

Well, as the subject implies, I get strange artefacts when adding a liquid inside a bottle I just modelled. Since I'm using KS 8.1 I shouldn't have to worry about spacing etc between the glass and the liquid, no? A previous model & render test gave expected result (i.e. no weird lines), but this cola bottle is giving me headaches. The model to the left has the liquid turned off, and the one to the light has the factory juice-material applied. I have tried with a lot of liquids, but they all yield the same result. Any thoughts?

Answering myself: yes, you still need a tiny distance between the glass and liquid. Scaled the cola down a bit, and no more lines.

Now, how to make water bubbles on the outside of the glass? Do I have to model them? And I guess some foamy layer of bubbles on top on the surface could be doable with some sponge-looking material. Hm.

Though you figured out the answer to your issue, it was covered here FYI...

Concerning the condensation or bubbles on the outside of the bottle. Yes, you could model them, though that would be kind of a pain using Fusion 360.  Using a "hair" particle system such as the one in Blender would be an easier way to go.

Or you could use a simple normal map. That can give you quite good results. I posted an example a while back here:

If you want to take advantage of the new displacement feature in KS8, to have the bubbles actually rise off of the bottle, check out the demo scene file that came with KS8 called "ice-water.bip" to see how to set it up.

Wow, thanks for these informative comments & links. I'll be reading up on the subject and see what I can achieve on my end.

Hi,
yes you can use displacement feature in KS8  ;)
