How do you export seperate models as .obj? Trying to take wheels off a car

This is in regards to this 'Quick Tip' http://www.keyshot.com/keyshot/quicktips/turning_wheels.html

In Step 1. it simply states 'the wheels were exported as .obj' STOP HERE- how do you even do this?  Can it even be done in keyshot? 

Any help appreciated as I am a total n00b :P

This is from your modeling program. In KeyShot 3, you will be able to turn them without the need of importing them separately.

Sweet! I was going to mention needing that functionality, in K3 we'll be able to 'move' any part in an assembly? :D
