When I export a *.3dm file using the keyshot plug-in out of Rhino (Rhino 6 SR13 2019-2-27 (Rhino 6, 6.13.19058.371) , I get decent looking rounded edges.
But if I import a *.3dm out of Keyshot (8.2.80) I get the black, almost inverted looking rounded edges. Re-tessilation helps a little bit but does not eliminate this issue.
Generally I could always use the Rhino plug-in, but if I need to composite a scene directly in Keyshot, I would like to get good results too  ;) The work around is using a STEP file, because here the issue does not appear, but it forces me to use unecessary and duplicated files that needs to be managed.  :o

Hello Germannick,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This is a known issue.

I believe that the plugin and direct import use different methods to bring the data into KeyShot. Luxion develops the plugin while the importer libraries come from a third party. Also, normally the tesellation at import and the re-tesselator use different algorithms.

For now, using the plugin or STEP files would be the the correct workarounds.
