can I use the GPU to animation? Reason I ask is it seems to load GPU materials for each frame?
is there a setting to stop this?

also what is the Finishing take so long at end, what is it doing?

Yes, you can absolutely use the GPU to render animations. If your scene is particularly slow feel free to contact support, so we can take a look at it. There should not be any particular overhead for each frame. The only time spent at the end is making the video file from all the frames.

hello,

i'm new to use gpu for render and animations.  it supports big advantages that reduced the time almost 25% for one image render.  but when i use to gpu for animations, its opposite in this issue.  it has taken too long time to make animation in totaly.

finishing time with using gpu 1h 50m, and using just cpu 1h 30m.

do i have a problem on my computer or it's a common problem?

thank you.

btw, i have quadro m5000 graphic card.
