Hello,

I'd really love to see a more updated HDRI editor (like in Maverick Studio and HDR Light Studio) with more light options

thanks,

Hans

Will Gibbons

I agree that more control and tools having to do with physical lights would be great. Might be helpful though if you can provide what specific features you like about Maverick Studio since making such a comparison is pretty general. Do you have some examples?

Hi Will,

yes for sure!

What's cool is to be able to position physical lights directly on the model in a very intuitive way, so it's really easy to move them around the 3D scene or directly position them on the model where you want it. Also the fact that you have tons of forms and options to choose from (umbrellas, leds, etc)  to make the lighting more realistic. More can be found here https://maverickrender.com/ambience-composer/

kind regards,

Hans

Are you talking about real physical lights or pin lights on hdri map ? that is completly different  , because all these options are already available in keyshot, you can pin lights directly from model or ad led or other umbrella light in the hdri map ...

I would love to be able to have physical light options like this you can move easily around or on the models in 3D.
I know you can add images and pin them in the HDRI map but you need to use an external library for this, or at least I didn't found any in the current KS library. thanks

You can find them on sites such as Blendermarket or Gumroad, for example:
https://blendermarket.com/products/leomoon-premium-hdr-studio-lights
https://pingo.gumroad.com/l/HDRsl
You can add them to your library, and then drag them straight into your environment as a light pin.

Hey thanks you for that link, have been looking around for some reasonable priced ones, will check these out, I also found some here

That said having this type of lights available as physical lights would be cool too. thanks

Yeah, I tried using them as color maps in area lights, but the black parts remain visible, ideally you'd be able to see them in a 'lighten' only mode where the dark areas are transparent.

Yes indeed that's what I learned from Will's tutorials as well, but I'll start to check out these in the hdri maps and see where I can go with it
